Ferran Torres has been cleared to fly to Paris for his medical with PSG.
Fabrizio Romano reports on X (formerly Twitter) that the Champions League holders have agreed €50m [£42.7m] guaranteed for the Spanish winger.
Another deal that, theoretically, brings Liverpool closer to signing Bradley Barcola in the summer transfer window.
Ferran Torres set for PSG medical in Liverpool boost
At the very least, Torres’ impending arrival more or less ensures that the Parisians would be fully stocked on the right flank – even were Anfield-linked Ibrahim Mbaye to be moved on.
🔴🔵 Ferran Torres has already authorization to travel for medical at PSG.
The transfer fee will be €50m guaranteed, as @ffpolo reported.
Ferran said yes to Paris last week, as per @MatteMoretto.

More importantly, it’s a massive step in the right direction as far as Liverpool’s negotiations with PSG are concerned.

Should the French champions go on to also add Ajax’s Mika Godts to their squad – as many in the industry expect they will – Luis Enrique will have a surplus of options to choose from.
And given the PSG head coach’s reportedly clear stance on wantaways in his squad, we strongly suspect that the club’s stance on Barcola’s £145m asking price will soften.
How much will it cost Liverpool to sign Bradley Barcola?
Fabrizio Romano told CaughtOffside that as much as €120m [£102.5m] would not be enough to see both clubs shake hands.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE 🚨
Liverpool remain in "active" talks over signing Bradley Barcola, who is keen on the move.#LFC are holding daily contacts, but the fee remains an issue, with €120m unlikely to be enough.

We can understand that; dropping your price tag by £42.5m is probably too much to ask for, especially if PSG want to come out of negotiations with their pride intact.

However, we don’t think it would be unreasonable to suggest that a middle ground of around the £120m [€140.3m] mark could be achieved.
Realistically, unless the Ligue 1 side is pretty confident that another suitor will come in with the desired £145m, everyone surely accepts this is PSG’s last chance to receive a statement fee.
With a contract set to expire in 2028, Bradley Barcola’s value is only going to take a tumble down the stairs in the coming windows.

What barcelona want to do to sell torres and mbaye or barcola
Whst have you Been taken🤣
Well gee I wonder why PSG are buying so many wingers/must be because they rate Barcola so highly – they want to get rid of him…lets be logical Barcola is overpriced by PSG and over rated by LFC/that is it in a nutshell. Why do you think they want to do a job lot of both Barcola and Mbaye together – it’s because they are desperate to sell Barcola/If I am Hughes I am putting a separate offer in for Mbaye and not buying Barcola…then instead of Barcola I am buying Rayan (if he can be bought?)…if PSG are fair dinkum they will sell Mbaye/if not I am buying Rayan and Fernandez – Pardo. Oh and all the talk about all these alternatives for a full back at £50m plus/pff I am buying that top player Djed Spence at £35-40 m…what a bargain for such a strong gifted full back….but hey Hughes knows better? YNWA
Barcola for 100M max? OK
Anything more than 100M – WALK AWAY!!
I couldn’t agree more!! Barcola is way overpriced, and we are being held to ransom. My preference all along has been for Rayan (I’d be even willing to go up to 100+M gor him). He’s a natural right sided winger which is exactly what we need. Furthermore he has worked in the Premier League. Under Iraola too! Has to be a perfect fit. Barcola has only 2 years left, by next year his value will surely drop, maybe exponentially if he doesnt get match practice, which is quite likely in a team overloaded with wingers anyway. But I’m sure Richard Hughes has thought of this….
Maybe Hughes just ran out of luck a couple of seasons ago
I think we need to give Richard Hughes some credit, he has usually come through for us in past and made some fantastic coup’s I can also say that Barcola is wanted by all the fans and pundits of the top clubs, if you look at his stats many are up they with 5th percentile he has explosive pace and will hurt defenders in premier league, we also want to make the statement signing of the year, go on Richard Hughes you love a friday get this transer fee over line for us today. YNWA
We need to focus on our defence line. Instead of spending high on barcola.
Our defense line is very porous. Let’s not repeat the same mistake we made last transfer window.
What we need most is no. 6 !
Ferran Torres. The better deal.
Its becoming dangerous to trust the liverpool hierachy to do something good for the club. Aiming high with little capacity or delayed decision making is hurting the club big time. Wasting time chasing targets you cant, leaving cheaper potent targets being taken away, or bringing very good players on the last minute is exposing the coach. No one should blame the coach should things not work out even with good signings. Worse still leaving player contracts to run down and lose players for free is diabolic. what the hack is happening with the powers that be?
