Liverpool and PSG are closing in on a deal for Bradley Barcola to move to the Premier League, according to reports coming out of France.

Loic Tanzi reports for L’Equipe that the France international is “expected to become the biggest transfer of a Ligue 1 player to a foreign club”.

The Merseysiders are understood to be in the market for a minimum of two offensive signings, including the 23-year-old, and may push for a third transfer beyond that.

The Bradley Barcola saga appears to be reaching a conclusion… at last

It seems that PSG won’t make it entirely easy for the Reds’ negotiators, however, with the Parisians sitting firm on their €140m [£119.7m] valuation.

Of course, it’s worth emphasising that this is a notable drop-off from the peak of talks, where Barcola’s value was understood to be in the region of €170m [£145.3m]

PSG’s fresh valuation at least brings the deal closer to the yardstick they were initially using in Manchester City and Chelsea’s deals for Elliot Anderson [£116m] and Morgan Rogers [£117m], respectively

At any rate, the left-sided winger and his entourage are thought to be increasingly confident that a deal will be finalised with Andoni Iraola’s Reds.

And boy has it been a long time coming…

The pressure’s on, Liverpool – get your bodies in

Seven days doesn’t seem like enough time to get three bodies in, does it?

At the very least, it seems like we’re nearing the end of talks with PSG for Bradley Barcola, and recent reporting suggests Liverpool could have a done deal for Yankuba Minteh with their third bid.

So the pressure’s on Richard Hughes and Co. to get in their third man – who we’d reasonably presume to be a centre-forward – and ensure that Iraola at least has a stacked forward line to work with this year.

It’s still leaving us short in central midfield and at right-back, we feel, but it seems our Basque head coach is convinced he can fix Liverpool’s gaping midfield with the personnel he has.

Though we’re not quite sure how he plans to navigate the precarious situation at right-back, with only Jeremie Frimpong available as a senior option.

Whatever way we cut it, we’re going to be left short for, at the very least, the first half of 2026/27.

  1. We can’t carry on with Frimpong and Kerkez as our full backs. Both are liabilities, and in Kerkez’s case Kostas is hardly a massive upgrade.

    1. Couldn’t agree more …

Kerkez is a real problem for me, I don’t see any signs of improvement either going forward or defensively. The only area he seems to excel in is avoiding a handball by keeping his arms tucked in!

If we have only one position to strengthen, left back is the weakest.

  2. Barcola will not be the answer to replace Mo – for me he is over rated and over priced…remember my words if LFC fall into this PSG trap…if Barcola is so good why is he behind their two proven wingers and why are PSG prepared to let him go…ok he might be unhappy not being able to unseat the other two…that right there tells you he is not worth the money they want for him! – it is that simple…and really we should be spending that sort of money on a right winger to replace Mo – I am buying Mbaye before I pay the silly figures PSG want for Barcola…I cannot for the life of me understand all this hype about Barcola – to me it is ridiculous. 1. The funniest part of the whole story is that in addition to the insane compensation, Liverpool will guarantee minutes to Barcola!

  3. We need bodies urgently, just get it done and move on to the next target. If only to prove me wrong because I fear a Virgil situation where we wait until January when they have to lower the asking price. However, our season could be done by then!

  4. BARCOLA MONEY IS HIGH IF YOU NEED A LW YOU CAN BUY MBAYE FOR LW,AND MINTEH AND DARIO OSORIO FOR RW,AND DM IS ALEX SCOTT,CAMARA.

  6. Barcola is a pacy winger, he’s going to be useless the way Liverpool currently play in compressing the opposition in their own half which they are happy to do and hit us in the break instead

  7. We need to sell Wirtz for some point. Urallaan will see that he cannot fix this midfield, which I think is one of the worst in pl

  8. If the rumours are true about a possible loan deal for Trent, we should snap him up in a heartbeat. In his heart he is always a scouser and has so much to offer us!
